Victor 12 honors Burt Williams

Victor 12, in partnership with Veteran Success Resource Group and Black Rifle Coffee, paid tribute to our founder, friend, and mentor, Burt Williams, by awarding $50,000 in grant funds to three Veteran-owned businesses. The event took place on April 19, 2019 at the Bourbiz MGM National Harbor Veteran Resource Event in Oxon Hill, MD. A video summary of the event can be viewed at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CD3ZGQ2n2Obo2zVeEo6wTpoBKa6XK5ij/view?usp=sharing

The three awardees of the inaugural Burt Williams Veteran Small Business Grant included:

  1. First Place: IRONBOUND Boxing $25,000.00
  2. Second Place: Backpacks for Life $15,000.00
  3. Third Place: OD Greens $10,000.00

We were honored to hand out the awards with Burt’s wife Maryann, his son Christopher, and Medal of Honor Recipient Clint Romesha (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_Romesha).  The event was attended by 1,879 supporters, with 68% being Veterans.

Burt’s passion to help his fellow Veterans will live on, and the award amounts will continue to grow. The next event is scheduled for January 2020 with a total grant value anticipated to be $100,000. Victor 12 will renew our support for this effort to not only honor Burt but to help our fellow Veterans succeed. We will do this by partnering with our great friends at the Veteran Resource Support Group (VSRG), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing professional and personal resources for Veterans and their families. We will support Veteran Resource Expo events across the United States, where we will bring together a multitude of resources from nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, businesses, corporate hiring partners, and Government agencies.
